Why We Built These Free SEO Tools

Most small and local businesses in Southern Oregon — and across the country — make the same preventable SEO mistakes: missing title tags, no meta descriptions, no H1 heading, no LocalBusiness schema, and an unclaimed or incomplete Google Business Profile. These aren't complex technical problems. They're simple, fixable issues that most businesses don't know they have because they've never looked.

We built this SEO toolkit to change that. Every tool in this suite analyzes your live website — fetching your actual HTML exactly as Google does — and gives you plain-language feedback on exactly what's working, what's broken, and what to fix first. No jargon, no upsells, no email capture. Just honest, useful information.

These tools are also the foundation of how we approach new client consultations. Before we recommend a strategy, we run an analysis. Before we quote a project, we know exactly what problems exist and why. We're giving you access to that same process — free — because we believe in demonstrating our expertise before asking you to trust us with your business.

Website Analyzer →

Our Website Analyzer is the most comprehensive free tool in the toolkit. In one scan, it evaluates 14 SEO and technical signals and produces three separate scores: a Website Health Score (overall), an SEO Score (on-page factors), and a Technical Score (infrastructure factors). After the analysis, a permanent result page is generated at /tools/website-analyzer/results/yourdomain-com — shareable and cached for 24 hours.

What we analyze: page title (presence and length), meta description (presence and length), H1 heading (presence and count), H2 headings (count and structure), Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image), Twitter Card, canonical URL, robots meta tag, mobile viewport, HTTPS/SSL, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, JSON-LD structured data, and image alt text coverage.

SEO Audit →

The SEO Audit tool presents the same analysis as the Website Analyzer but optimized for a fix-it workflow. Results are grouped by severity — Critical Issues (things causing immediate ranking damage), Warnings (suboptimal settings), and Passed Checks (confirmation of what's working). Each issue includes a plain-language explanation of the problem and its SEO impact. This is the tool to use when you have time to systematically work through improvements.

Keyword Analyzer →

The Keyword Analyzer extracts every meaningful word from your page (after filtering common stop words like "the", "and", "is") and surfaces your top primary and secondary keywords by frequency. For each keyword, it shows where it appears (title, H1, meta description, body), its density percentage, and classifies its search intent as informational, commercial, transactional, or navigational. The "Opportunities" section highlights high-frequency page words that are missing from your title or meta description — often the fastest way to improve rankings.

Local SEO Score →

Built specifically for local businesses, the Local SEO Score tool goes beyond generic SEO to evaluate the geographic signals that determine your local search rankings. Enter your website URL, business name, and target city — we analyze 10 local-specific factors and calculate a weighted Local SEO Score. We also check for NAP (Name, Address, Phone) indicators, LocalBusiness schema, service area language, Google Maps links, and city keyword density in your content.

The tool is also available with pre-configured city context for all Roseburg, Medford, Grants Pass, Eugene, and other Oregon cities we serve.

Google Business Profile Audit →

Unlike the other tools that automatically analyze your website, the GBP Audit is an interactive checklist built around the 15 highest-impact Google Business Profile elements. Enter your business name and city, then check off which elements your profile has — your score updates in real time. Categories covered: Business Information (name, address, phone, hours, website), Categories (primary and secondary), Content (description, services, attributes), Photos and Media (logo, cover, gallery), Reviews (count and response rate), and Google Posts (recency).

Competitor Gap Analyzer →

The Competitor Gap Analyzer compares your website and a competitor's website side by side across meta data, heading structure, keyword usage, and content depth. The comparison table shows you where you're winning, where you're behind, and the recommendation for each gap. The Keyword Gap section surfaces terms your competitor uses significantly more than you do. The Content Gap section translates the data into plain-language next steps. An overall SEO Opportunity Score summarizes your competitive position.

What You Can Do With These Tools

Identify ranking problems fast

Run the Website Analyzer on your homepage and get a complete picture of your SEO health in under 30 seconds. Critical issues are flagged immediately.

Prioritize your SEO work

The SEO Audit groups findings by severity so you fix the things causing the most harm first — not the easiest things.

Understand what you're ranking for

The Keyword Analyzer shows you what terms your page is actually targeting, which may not match what you intended. This is often the root cause of poor rankings.

Benchmark against competitors

The Competitor Gap Analyzer turns competitor pages into a learning opportunity — showing you exactly what they're doing that you're not.

Improve local search visibility

The Local SEO Score and GBP Audit tools are built specifically for the factors that determine Google Maps rankings and local pack visibility.

Build shareable reports

Website Analyzer result pages are cached and shareable — useful for reporting to clients, partners, or your team, or for tracking improvements over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these SEO tools really free?

Yes — all six tools are completely free with no account, email, or payment required. We built this toolkit to help local businesses understand their online presence and identify opportunities. The only thing we ask is that if our analysis is helpful, consider reaching out for a free consultation.

How accurate are the results?

Our tools fetch your live website exactly as a search engine crawler does, reading the actual HTML source. Results reflect your real on-page SEO status in real time. The analysis covers the same signals Google publicly confirms it evaluates — title tags, heading structure, meta data, structured data, mobile configuration, and more.

Do these tools affect my website?

No. Each tool makes a single HTTP request to your public website — the same as any web browser visiting your page. Nothing is modified. Your analytics may log one page view. Your server handles a single request with our user agent string.

What is the difference between the Website Analyzer and the SEO Audit?

They use the same underlying analysis engine. The Website Analyzer presents results with three separate score cards (Health, SEO, Technical) and a permanent shareable result page per domain. The SEO Audit presents results grouped by severity (Critical / Warning / Passed) for a more actionable workflow. Use the Analyzer to get an overview and the Audit to prioritize fixes.

How do I check local SEO for multiple cities?

Run the Local SEO Score tool once per city. Enter your website URL, business name, and the target city name. If you serve 5 cities, run it 5 times. Each run checks how well your homepage signals relevance to that specific city.

What is a programmatic SEO result page?

When you run our Website Analyzer or SEO Audit, a permanent result page is generated for your domain at a URL like /tools/website-analyzer/results/yourdomain-com. This page is cached for 24 hours and can be shared, bookmarked, or re-visited. It also becomes an indexed page over time as Google discovers it.

Can I analyze competitor websites?

Yes — all tools work on any publicly accessible website. The Competitor Gap Analyzer is specifically designed for comparing your site to a competitor. The Website Analyzer and SEO Audit also work perfectly for checking competitor sites and identifying where they're stronger or weaker than you.

How is this different from paid SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush?

Paid tools like Ahrefs provide backlink data, keyword ranking history, and competitive intelligence that requires large databases and complex infrastructure. Our free tools focus on on-page SEO signals — what's actually in your website's HTML right now. They're faster, simpler, and perfect for identifying the most common issues that affect local business rankings.

What if I find issues I don't know how to fix?

That's exactly what we're here for. Linear Web Solutions offers free consultations where we review your results together and build a prioritized action plan. Many of the most impactful fixes — adding a page title, writing a meta description, installing LocalBusiness schema — can be implemented quickly with professional guidance.

How do I improve my local SEO score?

The Local SEO Score tool identifies exactly which signals are missing or weak. The highest-impact improvements are typically: (1) Adding your city to your page title tag, (2) Adding LocalBusiness schema markup, (3) Displaying your phone number prominently, (4) Optimizing your Google Business Profile, and (5) Creating city-specific content if you serve multiple areas.

What is structured data and why do these tools check for it?

Structured data is JSON-LD code added to your page's HTML that explicitly tells Google what your content means — not just what it says. LocalBusiness schema tells Google your business type, location, and hours. FAQPage schema can generate FAQ dropdowns in search results. Structured data can unlock rich search results that dramatically increase click-through rates.

How often should I use these tools?

Run a Website Analyzer or SEO Audit monthly, and after any significant website changes. Run a Local SEO Score check quarterly. Run a Competitor Gap analysis when you notice a competitor outranking you or when you're targeting a new keyword. The GBP Audit checklist should be reviewed whenever you make changes to your Google Business Profile.

Do the tools work for any type of website?

Yes — they work on any publicly accessible website built with any technology. We've tested them on WordPress sites, Squarespace, Wix, custom-built sites, Shopify stores, and more. The only requirement is that your site is publicly accessible and returns HTML content.

What is keyword density and how is it used?

Keyword density is the percentage of times a word appears on your page relative to total word count. Our Keyword Analyzer surfaces this so you can see if you're using your target keywords frequently enough (or too frequently — very high density can be seen as keyword stuffing). There's no magic density number; the goal is natural, useful content that clearly covers your topic.

Are there limits on how many times I can use the tools?

Each IP address can run up to 20 analysis requests per hour across all tools. This is generous enough for thorough analysis sessions but prevents server abuse. For unlimited commercial analysis, we recommend professional SEO platforms. Our tools are designed for small businesses reviewing their own sites and those of direct competitors.
